🎃 First Deployment Breakfast Club Recap! 🎃
Today was a heartwarming start to our PGE Deployment Breakfast Club. Our military students got to meet other kids going through similar experiences, enjoy yummy juice and donuts, and kick off the season with spooky crafts! A huge thank you to Daylight Donuts for their generous donation of welcome home donuts, to our volunteer parent Mrs. Fitzpatrick, and PGE for their ongoing support of military students! 🍩 Special welcome back to MSgt Westfall and SSgt Thompson, who just returned home—your families, our PGE school and community are so glad to have you back!

Way to go rockstars! Mr. Sapp's 5th-grade students earned their first belt on the recorder!

We loved celebrating our wonderful Bus Drivers this week! Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your dedication!! Some of our students got to decorate bags that we filled with goodies to show our appreciation. Students enjoyed hand delivering the treats too!

Students in Mrs. Penlands class listened to the story How Big is a Foot? And then were challenged to construct a bed big enough for their stuffed animals. Students had to measure their animal in inches and add a few inches to make sure their animal didn’t fall off. They also compared their beds to the size of a king size bed by creating a subtraction equation using the measurements of the king size beds length and width in inches to their own bed they created. Students learned the importance of measuring precisely to ensure they had a bed that fit their animal comfortably.

September's Travis Pate State Farm Good Neighbors!

Mrs. Spires’ students enjoyed being back together today! They read the book “Scribble Stones” and discussed ways they can show kindness and inspire others through simple acts. Then, they painted their own unique stone as a reminder to always strive to spread joy to those around them.

We are so thankful to be back at school!!!! Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Youngblood’s students conducted interviews with each other about Hurricane Milton and its impact on their homes and families. 🌪️🏠 It was interesting to hear everyone's personal story.

Just like popcorn adds extra flavor, during writing today, Mrs. Bearrentine's students used adjectives to add richness and detail to expand our sentences and make them more vivid! 🍿

Celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day a little early. Mrs. Allison & Mrs. Robinson's students enjoyed apple tasting for apple week honoring Johnny Appleseed. The students used their senses to talk about the apples. They also graphed the apples according to which students liked the red, green or yellow apples.

🎉🎶 A huge shout out to Mrs. Holley's 5th grade class for earning their white belt in recorder! 🏅These talented students mastered the notes B, A, and G, and rocked their half note and quarter note rhythms! Their hard work, focus, and dedication to perfecting their skills are paying off. Keep up the fantastic work, musicians—you're just getting started!

It’s always a great day in music class when the parachute comes out!
Students have been enjoying using the parachute to explore movement and rhythm in fun, engaging ways. Whether we're lifting it high to the beat of a song, creating waves in sync with the music, or moving in circles, every movement connects their bodies to sound.

Friday was a great day to create pizza! PGE ACES classes rolled up their sleeves and got creative today making pizza pies! By working together, they were able to create some tasty results to end the week! Mr. Swilley enjoyed some also.

Kindergarten gathered, sliced, and squeezed lemons to make lemonade after reading the story "When Grandma Gives You a Lemon Tree."

Look at Mrs. Bearrentine's math wizards! They are solving addition problems up to 1,000 using digital base-ten blocks as a model. ➕

September 30th is Georgia Reads Day. Students may wear their favorite book character's outfit. Outfits must adhere to dress code. No scary outfits will be allowed.

Mrs. May visited Ms. Satterwhite’s Kindergarten class for a very special read aloud. Students were amazed that their very own Assistant Principal co-authored the book with her father and also illustrated the pictures!

Our 1st popcorn, pickles & pringles day was a success! Thank you to our ACES classes for helping out with this event.
