Who needs fancy instruments when rhythm is everywhere? Our 2nd graders turned ordinary buckets into percussion instruments. Their smiles and excitement proved that creativity and a simple bucket can make some serious music!

4th graders took their math skills to the kitchen! They learned to measure using 1/3, 1/2, and 1/4 cups, and even tackled equivalent fractions like 5/15 and 5/20! 🤓 And guess what? They figured out how to make 1/6 using half of the 1/3 cup since we didn’t have a 1/6 measuring cup!
📚✨ Mrs. Barnes' students have been hard at work perfecting their reading skills! They’re not just focusing on speed but also accuracy, expression, punctuation, pace, and comprehension. Now, they’re putting it all into practice with an engaging reader’s theatre performance!

Thank you to each and every person who purchased tickets or volunteered for our annual Breakfast with Santa event! Thanks to the support of our One Lowndes community we were able to purchase jackets and shoes for 30 students! We are so blessed to be able to give back to those in need during this Christmas season!
Today, our PGE Deployment Breakfast Club brought the holiday spirit to life as children celebrated in their cozy PJs! They enjoyed sweet treats, created festive holiday crafts, and formed meaningful friendships while supporting one another. A special thank you to Moody AFB Arts and Crafts for contributing to the children’s beautiful holiday craft decorations by capturing Polaroid memories. We also appreciate our amazing Moody AFB volunteers who provided mentorship and support to our students making them feel truly special. Today, we also welcomed Alexandra’s dad, SrA Costa, back from deployment! Welcome home, SrA Costa—we are so glad you’re here and thank you for your service! 🎄💖
Today, these Christmas Scientists made a hypothesis as to which liquid would dissolve a candy cane first. The liquids were vinegar, oil, hot water, and cold water. Hot water was the winner but vinegar came in at a close second!

Mrs. Penland’s students took on the STEM challenge of creating a parachute for Santa due to his sleigh being broken. Students started by learning about parachutes and how they work, designing a plan, building their parachute, and then a few trials before the final test! Students had an end goal of making sure Santa landed upright and on target. The process had a lot of trial and error but students powered through and were successful. Thanks Mrs. Akers for coming to help us!
PGE has the best artists! During December and January the following students will have artwork on display at the Valdosta Regional Airport. So if you are travelling for the holidays make sure to keep your eyes open and congratulate....

Congratulations to this year's PGE Spelling Bee winners! Our 1st place winner is Lydia Brown and the 2nd place winner Ava Stansbury. These students will go to the Lowndes County School's Spelling Bee. We are proud of all of the students!!!!
Over the last few weeks, 2nd grade has been composing rhythms in a meter of 3 or 4. They composed their turkey rhythms, practiced their composition, and then played their compositions on the drums. We then recorded their “parade” and shared it using QR codes that were displayed out in the hallway.
Today our PGE students enjoyed sweet treats, juice, and created festive fall crafts while building connections with friends who share similar experiences of parental deployment.
We are so grateful Moody Air Force Base service members joined us in helping facilitate the event by providing mentorship and support to our children making this event extra special.

Eloise, a second grade from Mrs. Penland’s class, researched and wrote about Juliette Gordon Low. Since Eloise is a Girl Scout, she had some background knowledge and the experience of going to see the birthplace of this important historical figure for Georgia. After researching, Eloise wrote an informational writing piece and published it on Google Docs and presented to her class. Way to shine Eloise!

Mrs. Penland's second graders had a delicious science lab lesson about the three states of matter. Students observed a liquid (root beer) being poured over a solid (ice cream) to create the third state of matter: gas. Students will have no issue remembering this science lesson!
