2nd graders have been working hard on identifying author's purpose! They played Pie Face! after identifying the author's purpose using P.I.E. and then took it a step further to determine the purpose of informational text using lemonADE. Students sampled lemonade, cut apart Scholastic book orders to find examples of PIE and ADE, and even wrote a song about using lemonADE to determine author's purpose that follows the same tune as "Have Some PIE." #learningatlpe

LPE Art🎨 and Music🎶 Clubs would like to give a huge THANK YOU to our Valdosta Home Depot. These students have been spending lots of time creating master pieces and working on the upcoming production of Aladdin. The Art Club is creating backdrops for the play. Home Depot provided sheets of foam board for this exciting project. We are so grateful to community partners like them that help our school in times like this! #learningatlpe
Third grade started their Test Prep Olympics to prepare for GMAS! Each class is a country, and chooses three students to compete in the Weekly Olympic Challenge. Competitors are chosen based on their proficiency, attitude, and effort demonstrated while working on the test prep throughout the week! Their first challenge was Basketball Free Throw. They had so much fun seeing which countries would be the bronze, silver, and gold medalists! Stay tuned for an update on this week’s challenge…

Additional Information: All players wanting to try out for the Lowndes Middle School Softball team must have a completed physical or current physical on file at the school.
